»Paros – the former island insider tip has established itself as a popular destination for a carefree beach holiday.«
Most of the beaches of the beautiful Greek island consist of golden sand, similar to the neighboring islands of Naxos and Mykonos. It is liveliest in the north and east of Paros, and the quietest are the seaside resorts in the south. To jump into the sea at every corner, a holiday alone is not enough.
In this article, we present the most popular beaches on Paros as well as beautiful hotels by the sea and show you our personal favorite bathing spots on the island:

Paros beaches in the west
#1 Beaches near Parikia
On the west coast of Paros there are only a few good bathing opportunities. Around the circular Bay of Parikia there are some beaches. Due to the central location of the island within the Cyclades, there is a lot of shipping traffic in the port of Paros. In addition, there are numerous sailors. Whether you want to swim here, everyone has to decide for themselves.
What to discover on Paros Island, you can find out here: Paros Highlights
Beaches close to Paros are Paralia Parikia, Livadia Beach and the Krios Beach. The latter is about 2 km from Parikia and is the quietest. Be careful when entering fast catamarans, although they enter the port at a reduced speed, they can still cause high waves.

#2 Agia Irini Beach (Palm Beach)
About 6 km southwest of Parikia is one of the few western beaches that Paralia Agia Irini. The beach is located in a deep bay that offers shelter from the strong north winds. Shady palm trees give the beach a Caribbean flair. Sun loungers at fair prices and cool drinks will be available in the 2024 newly opened Laris Beach Bar offered.
Otherwise, there are not many attractive beach sections on the west coast. The wind is too strong, flotsam of all kinds is washed up again and again. On windless days, you can watch the kitesurfers at Pounta Beach. Here a wide, sandy headland juts out into the sea. From Pounta there are also excursions to the neighboring island Antiparos possible.
Paros beaches in the north
#3 Kolimbithres
To the west of Naoussa Bay, on the coast of Kolimbithres, for many holidaymakers is the most beautiful beach of Paros. Kolimbithres is located about 4 km from Naoussa and is made up of several small coves separated by rocky outcrops jutting out into the sea.
The backdrop with the bright rocks surrounded by turquoise-blue sea is reminiscent of the Seychelles, only the palm trees are missing at Kolimbithres Beach. In summer, this Paros beach is very busy and parking spaces are limited. If you want, you can also get here by bus from Naoussa, the bus stop (Ktel Bus Stop) is only 150 m away.
Several taverns above the beach provide for the physical well-being. Our recommendation is the newly opened Restaurant Maremma, where you can enjoy delicious Greek food at slightly higher prices, but with sea views and a beautiful ambience.

#4 Monastiri Beach (Paros Park)
Only 2 km north is the Peninsula Agios Ioannis Detis with several dream beaches, including Monastiri Beach. The rugged region is called Paros Park and is largely natural, but unfortunately not yet sufficiently designated as a nature reserve.
If you arrive by rental car, park in the parking lot in front of the eponymous monastery Monastery of St. John’s of Deti or behind the main beach Paralia Monastiri. In the low season you can swim here well. There are no waves and the entrance to the sea is shallow. In summer it is always crowded, the loungers cost from 50 € and the bar of the same name does not have the best reputation.
If you follow the path along the coast to the east, on the other hand, you will find your personal bathing paradise. Several smaller and larger beaches can be reached in a few minutes, e.g. Perikopetra Beach, Katholiko Beach and Tourkou Ammos Beach. When we visited in September, they were largely deserted.
#5 Santa Maria Beach
On the other side of the large bay of Naoussa is the peninsula of Santa Maria. Here you can also find some beautiful Paros beaches, unfortunately many are already occupied by investors. Around the large Santa Maria Beach new holiday resorts are built every year.
We liked the Paralia Mikri Santa Maria a little further north, crystal clear water meets golden sand here. Sunbeds can be rented on site from €30. A visit to the Tavern O Katsounas at lunchtime is worthwhile. From Naoussa it is about 6 km to here, the bus runs every hour from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can also rent a car on Paros with our partner DiscoverCars*:

#6 Beaches near Filizi
On the coast north of the rocky island Filizi is a largely unspoilt, wild stretch of beach with rust-brown sand. Since the waves of the harsh north winds break here, the beach is subject to constant dynamics. Nevertheless, we found beautiful, undisturbed mini beaches, some of which are only accessible on foot – insider tip!

Paros beaches in the east
#7 Molos Beach
From Santa Maria there are many other beaches along the east coast in a southerly direction, but they are mostly gravel and have strong waves. Only on the natural Tsoukalia Beach there is sand again, a paradisiacal place on windless days. Otherwise, only windsurfers are drawn here.
However, we found the slightly southerly one more inviting Molos Beach, which is well shielded from the wind by a rocky cape and is partly lined by sun-protecting tamarisks. It is one of the longest and quietest beaches in Paros and has no operator.

#8 Logaras Beach
A 10-minute drive further south, not far from the village of Piso Livadi, holidaymakers who value local facilities will find the Logaras Beach their dream beach with fine sand and crystal clear waters. Sun loungers are available at the beach bars from 30 € p.p., the entrance to the sea is quite deep. For lunch we drove to Piso Livadi and to the restaurant Gialos Paroscome.

#9 Golden Beach (Chrisi Akti)
In the southeast of Paros stretches the 500 m long dune beach Paralia Chrisi Akti. Translated, it means Golden Beach, the name says it all and so it is considered the most popular beach in Paros. A handful of beach bars and restaurants have settled here, rent loungers from 20 € and take care of the physical well-being (recommendation: The Beach Project).
The bars also provide good sound during the season, and DJs play in the evenings. On the beach there are also water sports, as well as a surf station and a diving school. If that’s too much hustle and bustle for you, you should go to the Paralia Nea Chrisi Akti. Here it is quieter and with a view of the neighboring island Naxos it is good to relax by the sea.

Paros beaches in the south
#10 Paralia Lolantonis
The Lolantonis Beach southwest of the settlement of Drios is no longer an insider tip among the beaches of Paros, but a dip in the cool water in an idyllic atmosphere is still worthwhile. The wind-protected bay offers crystal clear water and on the grey sand there are some tamarisk trees for sun protection. From Aliki you can head for the beach by motorboat, information is available at GetYourGuide*

#11 Paralia Glyfa
It is even more relaxed on the Glyfa Beach , which is 10 minutes by car further west and can only be reached via a gravel road. Sun loungers are not rented, but tamarisks provide shade here as well, but the places are quickly sold out. The simple canteen takes care of the physical well-being Glyfa Cafe just behind the beach and the reef to the west is good for snorkeling.
→ Hotel tips at Glyfa Beach (links to Booking.com*):
#12 Faragas Beach
On the coastal road further east you will reach Faragas (also Farangka), one of the most popular Paros beaches in the south. The entrance to the sea is shallow, so that you can bathe well with children at Paralia Faraggas. The local beach restaurant doesn’t shine as much as the golden sand, the loungers cost an incredible €70 per couple, the food is simple and off course overpriced.
#13 Agios Nikolaos Beach (Aliki)
In the resort of Aliki there are three beautiful beaches and many gastronomic facilities (tip: To Balcony tou Aki). The village beach Paralia Aliki is quite narrow, but cozy: fishing boats bob in the sea and tavern chairs stand in the sand. If you are looking for even more peace and quiet, you will find the natural beach of Piso Aliki southeast of the village.
We found the Agios Nikolaos Beach, a sand and pebble beach on the western outskirts of the village. Our daughter liked the shallow entrance into the sea, the playground only 50 m behind the sea rounds off the family bathing day.
→ Hotel tips at Aliki (links to Booking.com*):
#14 Beaches near Voutakos
On the southwestern cape of Paros lies the scattered settlement of Voutakos, on whose coast there are some natural beaches and bays. The big construction boom has so far failed to materialize, so that many bathing areas are freely accessible via gravel paths. Secluded bays such as Paralia Makra Miti are also suitable for nudism.
Excursions and tours to Paros beaches
From Naoussa, Parikia in the north, as well as Piso Livadi in the east and Aliki in the south, you can explore the beautiful coast of Paros with its numerous beaches and bays by boat.
