Why the Corfu travel guide is worth buying

Our 10 day tours will make your Corfu vacation unforgettable.

Be your own tour guide

The tourist bus picks you up at 8 a.m., but you want to have breakfast in peace first? Our route suggestions adapt to your rhythm so that you don't feel rushed or pressured. This allows you to tailor your vacation on Corfu to your individual needs.

Secluded beaches & idyllic coves

During peak season, many beaches on Corfu are crowded. If you don't want to lie on the beach like sardines in a can, the beach recommendations in our book will help you. We show you secluded beaches and bays where you can swim undisturbed even in the high season.

Illustrative photos for explorers

In our travel guide, you will find many beautiful photos that will inspire you to explore the island of Corfu.

Insider tips away from the crowds

On conventional island tours, you visit places where hundreds of other tourists are already queuing up. We, on the other hand, take you to remote locations where you can experience the unspoiled nature of Corfu, which has not yet been discovered by mass tourism.

Top sights on Corfu

We'll show you the most popular highlights of Corfu: from historical sites such as Kassiopi Kastro to enchanting beaches such as Agios Georgios Beach.

Enjoy traditional Greek cuisine

We present our favorite taverns in Corfu, which we have visited ourselves and where you can enjoy delicious Greek cuisine.

Save time planning your Corfu vacation

We provide you with fully planned day trips, meaning you can sit back and relax without having to worry about how to get from A to B or what there is to see during your vacation.

Excursions to Corfu's neighboring islands

From Corfu, you can easily take the ferry to Paxos, Antipaxos, and the Diapontian Islands. These islands are even more unspoiled than Corfu and are perfect for a day trip.

FAQ Travel Guide Corfu

Important questions and answers about the Corfu Guide

Do I absolutely need a rental car for the Corfu tours?

With the exception of a few tours (including the Kerkyra walking tour), a vehicle is required for almost all of the day trips described. We recommend renting a car to reach the more remote parts of the island. For more information on car rental and traffic, please visit: Car Rental in Greece

Does the Corfu travel guide include maps?

For each excursion, there is a rough overview map showing the individual stops and larger towns. To ensure reliable navigation for your day trip, we have created maps for you using Google Maps, which you can access via a link or QR code.

Can I get everywhere on Corfu with a rental car?

The main roads on Corfu are paved and therefore easy to drive on. Some access roads to the beaches on the west coast are very steep and narrow, so a vehicle with sufficient engine power is recommended. Relevant information can be found in the respective chapters.

Are the most important sights included in the Corfu travel guide?

All of Corfu's major attractions have been included in the travel guide. These include the capital Kerkyra, the Achilleion, the Canal d'Amour, the region around Paleokastritsa, the twin bays of Porto Timoni, and much more.

Is Corfu easy to explore by rental car?

With a few exceptions, the roads on Corfu are in moderate condition. A main road connects the north with the south. You should always expect oncoming traffic, even on side roads. You should drive with foresight in order to recognize potential hazards (e.g., animals on the road) in good time.

How much money should I budget for the Corfu tours?

Our day trips take you to picturesque places and wild nature and are usually free of charge. Some historical sites and monasteries charge a small entrance fee. Admission prices and opening hours are listed in the respective chapters.

Can I also take the Corfu tours by bus?

Although the bus network on Corfu is relatively well developed, apart from Tour #1 (Corfu Town), it is not possible to take any other tours by bus, as the individual connections are not flexible enough. It is therefore advisable to rent a car, even if it is only for a few days of your vacation.

Do I also need a regular travel guide for Corfu?

Our travel guide for the island of Kos is not a complete replacement for a comprehensive travel guide. It takes care of your trip planning and provides basic information about the island from A to Z. In the Lonely Planet travel guide about Corfu, you will find further helpful information about history, and the country and its people.

Can I do the tours in the Corfu travel guide with kids?

All day trips are also suitable for children. Of course, the individual fitness level of the kids must be taken into account. We do not recommend hikes to the larger island mountains for children under 12 years of age.

Are there also tours that can be done in bad weather?

Corfu is located in the Ionian Sea and is green for good reason. From May to October, there may occasionally be short rain showers. In case of bad weather, you can visit the museums and wineries described in the travel guide.

When will the Corfu travel guide be available as a printed book?

A printed version of our travel guide is available regularly—but only while supplies last. Sign up for our newsletter and we will inform you about the delivery date. Alternatively, our e-book is available for immediate download at any time. It can be read as a PDF file on almost all devices.
